The Beam Scale

5 - Brilliant. As well as marvelous, awesome, amazing etc. This book captured my attention from the beginning and I was sad when it ended. It has climbed it's way into the list of my favorite reads. This is the kind of book I think you should definitely purchase if it sounds like something that might even vaguely interest you.

4 - Enjoyable. I liked this book a lot. The plot and characters were good, it kept my attention, but I didn't love it like some of the others I've read. Maybe it was just missing that draw or something just didn't make it sit perfectly with me. However, I would still recommend this book.

3 - Adequate. This book was alright. Maybe it had a couple of minor plot holes, I didn't like the tempo, or something else just kept the book from reaching a higher potential. Perhaps at times there weren't enough details and the story seemed to jump around or there were too many details and I got tired of waiting for something to happen. (Details are a fickle thing) I might suggest this book if I thought they might enjoy it, but it wouldn't be one of my top choices. You'd have to check it out for yourself.

2 - Mediocre. This book did not appeal to me very much. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't really my cup of tea either. Perhaps there were major inconsistancies or I just didn't like the book for some reason. There is a slim chance that I would suggest this book to someone with a different literacy taste than myself, but only if I really thought they would get something from it, and if the only real reason it got 2 beams was because I didn't like the genre.

1 - Let Down. I wouldn't suggest this book to anyone. Maybe there was a "god-mode" character who didn't have any major flaws, or the plot fell apart quickly. Possibly the book left out major plot points or often didn't make sense. Maybe I just thought the book wasn't worth the read and don't want to put it on anyone else. Whatever the case, I highly suggest not wasting your time on this one.
